A romantic buttercream cake made for an Ibiza resident, creative celebration

Ibiza feels very different once the season ends.
When the crowds leave, the island becomes friendly, joyful, softer — more “human”.
I used to take contemporary dance classes with a Dutch dance teacher here in Ibiza.
Her name is Kimberly. She calls herself Kimberly the Fairy, and honestly, it suits her perfectly.
Her life is deeply romantic, a little bohemian, and very creative. Dance, movement, softness — everything about her world feels fluid.
Her partner, Raz, is also an artist — a musician. He sings, plays guitar, and performs.
Together, they create spaces where people naturally gather, simply to be together.

Her birthday happened in autumn, after the busy season was over.
Work had slowed down. The island was quieter.
People came without expectations. Someone played music, others sang, talked, laughed.
It was one of those Ibiza moments that tourists rarely see.

When Kimberly asked me to make her birthday cake, the mood board was very clear.
She loves vintage aesthetics, soft pink tones, flowers, angels — something gentle, romantic, and slightly dreamy.
She wanted the cake to feel like her world.
That’s how Dancing in the Flowers came to life.
This kind of buttercream work comes naturally to me.
Romantic piping, soft movement, floral details — it’s a style I genuinely enjoy making, and one that doesn’t feel forced.

The cake didn’t need to be dramatic. It just needed to belong to that moment.
Looking back, this cake feels less like a product and more like a dreamy life.
The kind that happens off-season, away from the noise, among dancers, musicians, and creative people who stay.
This is the Ibiza I know.
And sometimes, the cake is simply part of the scene.
